LeahJ is the author of nearly 300 original contemporary Christian songs and has been performing music professionally since 1993, both throughout the United States and around the world. World travels include New Zealand, Australia, Scotland, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
She was born in Johnstown, PA, and raised in Jimmy Stewart's hometown, Indiana, PA. She attended Harding University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (piano), and went on to study at Ashland Theological Seminary in Church Music and Spiritual Formation, completing a ministry certificate through Bethany Theological Seminary's Training In Ministry program. She is an ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren, and currently serves as Minister of Music at Harrisburg First Church of the Brethren where she directs Christus Choir (traditional), Grace Notes Gospel Choir, and the First Church Praise Team and Band. She is also a member of Bittersweet Gospel Band (http://bittersweetgospelband.blogspot.com/).
Leah J travels throughout the US each year leading retreats, preaching, training worship teams, and singing interactive, inter-generational concerts.
A member of MENSA, she's active in the Central Pennsylvania chapter of American MENSA, and knits and crochets for a charity called Kidney Afghans for Kids. She and her two cats, Clare and Francis, live in Mechanicsburg, PA. She's a lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan and reads every novel Rex Stout and Steven James have ever written!
